Lessons

The Leanne Charlton School of Dance offers a range of dance classes for all age groups. With a professional studio we cater for all abilities and genres of dance, including ballet, tap & modern.

The aim of the school is to train all pupils to the highest standards and nurture the physical and creative development of each child so they may achieve their potential. We offer training up to major levels in all ISTD genres. It is not compulsory to take exams and pupils will only be encouraged to do so if and when Miss Leanne feels they are ready.

As a school we compete in local dance competitions and we have a annual Christmas Show.

All staff have up to date checks from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Ballet Dancing

An artistic dance form performed to music, using precise and highly formalised set steps and gestures.

Tap Dancing

A form of dance characterised by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of precussion.

Modern Dancing

Is a dance style that focuses on a dancer's own interpretations instead of strutured steps as in ballet dancing.

Street Dancing

This dance has roots in breakdance and hip hop, gaining its name for being a dance form which evolved on the streets.
